First day of teaching: Spring semester, 2014

An homage to an earlier (nearly two years old) image from the highlight reel? Perhaps, though today's shot featured a beard fresh inside from a 25MPH wind burst. And a different body-shearing lens was mounted. And I may be possibly a bit thinner, possibly a bit wiser. But who knows what the next few months will bring? Where states will re/pro-gress to.

News: I received the official word today that I passed my comprehensive exams. I am now officially ABD, all but dissertation. Yeah, that's all I have left to do...Next step, finish my prospectus by May (which a few people have now told me ends up essentially becoming your first chapter anyways; or parts, in some fashion).

Yes, it was good to catch up with so many people again today, see friends after the long time and distance apart. Refreshed, recharged. Brighteyed. We are all in this together. All of us.
