Mottled

A friend and ex-colleague has just self-published his novel (Wyon Stansfeld, Toggle) and we met for lunch today so that I could buy a copy and by-pass Amazon, who are selling it. But he confessed it’s been published through Amazon. Pfaf! I’d love how easy they make things if 1. they weren’t putting bookshops out of business and 2. they paid the taxes they morally owe to the countries in which they operate.

Oh well. I’ll read my friend’s novel even so.

We were notified of the 'end of the flood warning' today but plenty of local people are still suffering from what's happened over the last week and will continue to do so for quite a while longer.
