Berlin-day 2

its my birthday!!!!! Where better to spend it than in Berlin with good friends and a hefty amount of beer? It was a bit of a late start since almost all of us stayed up a bit too late bit we managed eventually to get ourselves organised and head out to the east side gallery. I'd been to Berlin once when I was about 9 so seeing the wall then was nothing more than, well, a wall with some pretty pictures. Now after learning a bit of cw politics, it was a very poignant experience. I could not get over how recent it was that this divider was in effect. After the wall we met Rosie and headed to museum island with the intention of going to the Pergamon museum but due to a combination of our disgracefully late start and being a group of nine idiots with no apparent leader, we just waddled along in that direction. It was not a disappoint to not reach our destination as a movie-like sunset filled to sky- the city looked iridescent. We finally reached museum island and went into the first museum we saw which was full of classical art. Unfortunately none of us were quite entranced by the offerings there. I'm sure anyone who was interested would find it a fascinating collection. But we bought museum passes and they proved to be the best buy of the trip later. Later, we went to the bird- a burger restaurant that was highly recommended and hyped by friends. And oh boy they did NOT overrate. It was truly the most perfect, juicy, succulent, *insert typical food adjective*, AMAZING burger ever!! I had mine with a fried egg, a healthy portion of chips and of course, a giant pickle. It was a trek to get there that involved walking through a dark and slightly questionable unlit park but was so worth it. GO THERE. We ended the night clubbing at a club called cookies which was nothing too special but I had fun. After clubbing, we went to a corner shop bought more beer and continued drinking until I eventually collapsed into my bed. 10/10 as far as birthdays go
