Autumnal Edinburgh
It was such a beautiful day in Edinburgh today, the leaves are an amazing array of colours, the air was crisp, the sun was shining, the light was warm and glowy.
My art class met at the National Gallery this morning for a day of sketching and instruction :) I didn't actually make it to the sketching part as I was just too sore and shattered to stay past the morning. But I'm really glad I did manage the first couple of hours, I learned lots about structure and have a new appreciation for Vermeer and Titian! Well apart from 'The three ages of man' which is frankly a bit shit ;)
(half an hour and I'm an art historian with the qualifications to criticise! lol)
I slept for the rest of the day (after buying even more hot water bottles in M&S! They do help a bit with the pain though and 2 of the cheapy ones I bought last week have already bust! You really do get what you pay for I suppose...) so unfortunately missed the rest of the sunshine, but I enjoyed taking lots of pictures earlier so I don't feel too bad. (more to see here) I'm heading up north for a week tomorrow (so looking forward to not having to do anything at all for a week, really need it just now) so I need to organise myself tonight. Ugg. Chuck some stuff in a case and back to the sofa I think. :o)
