So the first quarter of my strictly alphabetical Munich underground station series is done. And today's station is special in that regard, that it is most definitely the ugliest in the whole network. The one phrase that was permanently in my mind while I was in Giesing (Bahnhof) underground station was "50 shades of brown" (which would make for a goo titleof a probably rather nasty porno film).

Giesing (Bahnhof) underground station was opened in 1980 along with neighbouring stations. Although outstandingly ugly, the station is an important connecting point of U-Bahn and S-Bahn, Munich's commuter train system.

The next station will be nicer again, more like the last one at Gern. Promise!
