Heading South

The ferry, not me! This is the Pentalina which sails between St Margaret's Hope in Orkney and Gill's Bay in Caithness, on the north coast of Scotland. Flotta and the oil terminal in the background with the hills of Hoy behind that. It would have been a perfect day for the crossing, bright blue skies and not too much of a breeze!

Cold and clear, after a frosty start, it was also excellent dog walking weather once I'd put all my layers on! Bitter cold when I had to take my gloves off to take photos though. This afternoon I did a bit of digging in the front garden. We're moving a path and putting in one where the old wall was, hence the collecting of sand the other day. Digging is certainly the perfect exercise for getting you warmed up, I was nice and toasty by the time the fading light drove me back indoors!

Mike's day off and he spent most of it in the shed with the new dinghy! A happy man who needed nothing more than the occasional cup of coffee and a bacon roll at lunchtime!
