Back to work
Walking down Portobello Road to Notting Hill used to be a Monday morning ritual for me. The idea being that a good burst of exercise at the beginning of the week focuses the mind.
This year is already feeling more normal, although I had to wait in to get my burglar alarm serviced first thing.
This guy and his dog are Notting Hill archetypes. I look at him and create a back story. He's a web developer, works from home and has some clients nearby. Although he lives in a house with a shared private garden he'll take the dog up to the market so he can catch up with one of him mates in the coffee shop. His wife asked him to pick up some meat from the butchers on the way back which he thinks is a nuisance.
This may be his younger sister. Notting Hill women are fond of their fur (faux or otherwise), big sunglasses and skinny jeans.
Further down the road, outside The Electric, a musician work the street in another way.
