A Sleepy Start

After a wonderful New Years Party at my brothers house and a great start to the 2014 species list (Green Woodpecker) I decided to pop down to Newport Wetlands this afternoon as it actually wasn't chucking down with rain.

It was a nice if not sleepy start to this years list. Unusually for me I have got the Little Owls already (as seen above) and a lovely Stonechat sat obligingly in the sun, if not a bit too far away to photograph. It was nice to get out and stretch the legs and walk off some of the Christmas excess to be honest!
