Greenwich Meridian Line

An early start to the day, travelling with friends to Greenwich. Started before the sunrise and was subject to the full spectacularly colourful sunrise as we drove.

Visited the astronomers photography exhibition, some amazing photos, and the Royal Greenwich Observatory. Here the Greenwich Meridian line is shown which separates the western hemisphere from the eastern hemisphere and is hence 0 degrees longitude. It was established as the site of the prime meridian by an international conference in 1884.

When you read of all the astrological, mathematical and engineering skills developed throughout the world and developed over the years it makes you wonder if we could achieve these developments today.
