What a pile of..... crystals!

So we left in the dark at 5.30am yesterday to drive to Feltham near London to select our granite worktops. The journey was great at that time in the morning, and we were greeted by a stunning (sometimes blinding!) sunrise. The factory was immense and we spent an enjoyable 2 hours looking round at all the granite, marble, limestone etc. We chose ours, its a black/grey with large blue fossils in it which change from silver to stunning blue depending on where you are standing.
I took loads of pictures of the different stones, but loved this one. They stick semi precious stones together with a resin and then take thin slices from it. They had them displayed with backlights, which you could use as a splash back, really pretty and in many colours.
We then drove over to visit with my family. My youngest nephew was having his birthday party and was really pleased with the huge water blaster I got for him!
We spent today with the family celebrating my Dads birthday with a Sunday dinner at the local pub. It was the first time for a long time that my Mum & Dad, Me and my brother and sister, all of our partners and their 4 children were around a table together and it was very special!!!
The drive back was dark and very wet but after 3.5hrs we are home safe and sound, if not a little poorer for the granite!!! :)
