Leather and lace by Leng
I am very fond of the 80's, and there are days on which I understand why. These dresses and coats were made in the eighties, by Fong Leng. This Dutch-Chinese artist found fashion in the Netherlands too boring - think Bill Gates screens for glasses, unisex sweaters, carrot-shaped jeans... Ouch. And so she mixed up the inspiration given by her roots, and her talent to work with colourful ingredients. Wearable pieces of art were the result. Mathilde Willink - the muse of Dutch surrealist Willem Willink - was one of her most frequent clients. She would not go walking round the street if she did not look like a paradise bird, and I think that's why the colourful flora- and fauna scenery that's on the pieces suited her perfectly.
Miss Leng does not make a lot of clothing anymore, but she does anything concerning home decoration. You could sit on, or lean against her instead.
