The level of decibels reached at the mini clan gathering this afternoon was enough to send His Lordship scuttling behind his sound proofed door.

It is amazing how much noise 6 of my grandchildren and their parents can make even if the youngest did sleep through it all.

It is also amazing that there is not a single photo of the gathering where one of the children is not pulling a face or moving about so that they appear as a blur.

But an entertaining afternoon it was and my look alike Mary Berry birthday cake with a filling of cream and strawberries vanished off the plate like snow off a dyke.

His lordship made sure that all the children were rounded up at the end and went home with their parents, lest one of them be forgotten, requiring a return for collection.
