Dusk at Munlochy Bay, on the Black Isle (again).
Bit closer this time, and the tides out. Baltic weather continues. It's not often you'll see parts of the sea freeze over here. The salinity of the water in the bay will be a fair bit less than the open sea. But still, it has to be darned cold for this skin of ice to be lowered onto the mudflats by the outgoing tide. It's thick enough to support my weight over some areas I wouldn't attempt to go on if it was just the mud. It'll be gently lifted and lowered by the next tide. Probably becoming slightly thicker in the process.
Plenty photos to choose from today. Whilst it was beautifully sunny, the temperature stayed firmly in the negative zone all day. Some huge icicles about.
