Although nothing much happened here today, it is a significant day for me.

My youngest has just started a job in London and is moving there next weekend. One more week of helping him commute and he'll be gone. He is lucky to have this great opportunity and life suddenly looks exciting for him again - after a few months out of work. I couldn't wish for better for him.

So this was his last weekend with me. And here he is working on his laptop whilst I sort out the rubbish in the garden.

We support our children in everything they do whilst they are with us, but at the same time we have to be ready to encourage them when the moment comes that they suddenly go.

Thirty years ago I gave birth to my first child. She is celebrating in Barcelona!
