Tools

We used to have a garage full of tools such as these when we lived in the United States and owned a home. They were in constant use as we had a fairly large yard and something always seemed to need sprucing up. Since selling all we owned and moving to Mexico we have had no use for such implements, but our friend who has reclaimed a section of jungle as his own uses them every day. They are stored in his shed ready for immediate use. What this photo does not convey is the sense of cool when one enters the shed in search of a tool for the job at hand. From the sunny, hot, steamy land outside to the shaded, quiet, cool space inside - the contrast is remarkable. I don't think I would ever leave the cool interior to do the actual work, but he seems to love the challenge of creating something civilized from raw jungle.
