#100happydays - Day 7

It was a zoo day today! A super happy, lovely day! We bought some passes for the children's birthdays in a few weeks so now we can go whenever we want and I'm very excited about that. We are definitely going to get our money's worth from those. Chickpea giggled for the first half hour at least! Also, we finally got to see the jaguar. It's always been hiding when we've gone before. Chickpea said that was her favourite bit and that they were very cute and she wonders when they will have babies. Actually, there was one jaguar and one panther and I was surprised to see them together but then a friend said they were the same species so I guess I shouldn't have been.

Both kids watched the spider monkeys for ages, completely fascinated! It was a great day, we even made it for feeding time at the penguin exibit and got to see lots of lovely fish parts floating around. The Chickpea quote of the day was, "Elephants ears look like stingrays!"

Later in the evening we were reading stories. Chickpea pointed to a word and said, "That says fox." She was right has never recognized a word before so it was very exciting. Monkey counted eleven objects in the book. I love being able to watch them learn, they are always surprising me with the stuff they pick up!
