Exhibition at Dimbola

Spent a very pleasant evening with about 60 amateur and professional photographers at the Dimbola Museum and Galleries for the opening and awards night for the Isle of Wight Photographer of the Year competition.

Although I wasn't amongst the winners I was very pleased that from nearly 400 entries two of my pictures were amongst the 30 selected for the exhibition. One of them has a prime position over the fireplace in the blip picture.

Dimbola Lodge was the Isle of Wight home of the Victorian pioneer photographer Julia Margaret Cameron from 1860 to 1875. It is now the home of the Julia Margaret Cameron Trust, and a photographic museum. I am sure that any blippers visiting the Island would find it a fascinating place to visit. It also has am excellent cafe.
