World heritage site - New Lanark Mill

From the car park at New Lanark Mill, you could be wondering what all the World Heritage status fuss is about. However, a few steps down the hill towards the mill offers this fantastic sight.
The waterfall is the only noise you notice, and the whole place feels a bit special when you know it was built in the 18th Century.

Around 1800, a local man called Robert Owen, transformed life and built an industrial community in New Lanark with ideas and opportunities which were at least a hundred years ahead of their time. Child labour and corporal punishment were abolished, and villagers were provided with decent homes, schools and evening classes, free health care, and affordable food.
The Mill is now a beautifully restored visitor centre, hotel, and a great place to visit for all ages.

Back to today... Last night we went for a Stargazing Live event, which started well with the visitor centre run activities for the kids. Sadly, the stargazing side itself on their rooftop garden didn't deliver what we hoped (as we didn't really see anything at all). I think a planetarium is probably a better idea for the kids.
