Into the Forest

This morning I was out walking before the actual sunrise, but missed the most intense phase of color. I decided to go down to a wooded area where a small stream crosses the path. Though small, it can be
difficult to cross if there has been any significant rain. Unfortunately, rain has not been a factor in quite some time. This is the view just before the stream. The overhanging branches form an almost circular pattern around the path. The only creature I encountered was a vocal and playful hummingbird getting a drink from the stream.
