The mother of giants

I went to Chester market today to have my hoover repaired.

Where I met this man carrying one of the Chester Giants, no idea why he was moving them around but now I know where they live when they are not walking the streets during the Midsomer Watch Parade. This friendly man was happy to pose as a scale and explained that the tradition of the giants is 500 years old. The parage was first held in 1498 and renowned throughout the country, because whereas most medieval pageants had one giant, Chester had a whole family, a mother, father and two daughters.

Then he climbed inside one and started dancing...
