Il n'y a pas de choix: Pas d'art sans la vie
The Musée Magritte is a must-see for all art lovers. Spread across three floors, the exhibitions explore the different periods of the surrealist painter's life and work alongside a contextualisation of his involvement in the Surrealist movement. I visited the museum today and loved it (and picked up this awesome notebook and postcards). I especially enjoyed learning about his conceptualisation of art and life. The title of today's entry is a quote of his and for me it really resonates. Art is not only aesthetics, it has to tell me something about life. I want it to move me, to shock me, to tell me an insight. Magritte was totally crackers but that makes sense to me.
