Mr Clever

Libbie was well enough to do an exciting bus trip to town so the kids could redeem their Waterstones vouchers.

Charlie had a right haul, two new Tom Gates books and the next Harry Potter he has not read.

Libbie picked Mr Clever, from the Mr Men series.

The irony wasn't lost on Charlie.

He was bribed, later in a restaurant to read Mr Clever to Libbie.

After intense negotiations, I think it cost more than the bloody book for him to read it to her three times, just so we could enjoy a glass of wine and a conversation without interruption.

Mr Clever indeed.
