Perfect Poser

Firstly I apologise for the quality, we set off and got too far to turn back once I realised my battery had been left charging :-( We did have another camera with us as we were hoping for lots of shots of herons on 'Heron Island'

But..... no herons, lots of flooding around the lake, loads of ducks and geese and....... this brazen little kingfisher teasing everyone with its gorgeous iridescent plumage, flitting from branch to branch!

When he finally settled for a while I couldn't believe I got a shot from this close. He may have been getting ready to roost as he remained still for a few mins. I couldn't have done any better with this camera as I was fully zoomed and felt I was very still, though no tripod (I'm a bit self conscious still!)

Will be returning soon with long lens AND tripod!!
Wasn't I lucky though, I've only seen one twice before in this country? :-))))
