Celtic cross

The cross was still the stone of choice for some wealthy Victorians. Its origins go back to the Columba's Celts who Christianised Scotland, and erected some fine crosses such as the ones on Islay. The Picts adopted the symbol too, but retained their traditional decorations on the reverse of the crosses.
