Mr Particular

We had our first, albeit very brief, flurry of snow this morning, but then in brightened up so as I was feeling a bit better, I decided to go for a reccy of the area where I am leading the Fungus Foray tomorrow. There was plenty around, so no need to worry on that account. As I need to concentrate exclusively on the fungi tomorrow, I allowed myself to be distracted by the birds today - plenty of those around including a few for my year list, like Great Spotted Woodpecker, and this one - the Grey Heron. According to Ratty in The Wind in the Willows, they are very particular who they speak to. I can see where he got that idea.
