camo coyote

It was a somewhat warmer morning today so we decided to take the long way home on our walk.
So glad we did!
Here's the sequence of events that led to seeing this well camouflaged coyote.
First I heard the scolding of many magpies and discovered a tree loaded with them (at least 10, or more).
Then I looked under the tree and saw a deer! But quickly realized the deer was a dummy target for bow and arrow shooting.
Then I saw this coyote sitting on the hillside next to the deer dummy.
So I think the coyote was stalking the deer, which excited the magpies, and then the coyote realized its faux pas and sat down to regroup.
