protest day. saturday seems to be the official day of civic unrest in korea. there are almost always protests against one thing or another by city hall, which is only a short walk from my apartment. here a group of police officers are waiting for the protesters to arrive. 10 minutes later this viewpoint looked very different, as all traffic had stopped, and the officers had made a human chain on each side of the street, providing a safe/controlled corridor for the demonstrators.
