100 Days of Happiness pt5
Running. Last weekend a friend of mine asked me to do Tough Mudder with her this summer. That's going to require some training. I started the "Couch to 5k" training program this week and it's going pretty well.
There is, of course, the post run chemical happy (which seems to be setting me up pretty well for the day in and of itself) but also I can feel it having an effect on my body after only a week, which is nice.
It's not like I'm not used to getting exercise. I lift, swim, climb, and fence with varying (often high) levels of regularity and they each have their own after effects. None of them feel quite as significant as that of even this quite small amount of running though.
I look forward to seeing what happens as I continue to ramp up my distances to a full 5k and beyond to the distances I'll have to cover this summer.
