Walking in the Treetops

My son and I decided to celebrate our birthdays (mine yesterday, his Monday) by going over to the West Coast to the Treetop Walk. It was a long drive, but what a great experience. The walkway is twenty metres up, which takes you close to the branches of the mighty rimu trees on their long trunks. I was delighted to look close-up at the perching plants, colonies of plants clinging to the trees high above the forest floor.
