An older generation

While I was looking for some post-its I came across this photograph which is of me in the middle between my paternal grandparents. I hesitate to say how old the photograph is but what is striking is how old my grandparents look. They can only have been in their mid fifties at most yet the seem to me to be a lot older.

Like my parents they were farmers and this was taken in front of the stable of the farm which has long since disappeared under a housing development. My grandfather tried to get me as interested in horses as he was but sadly failed completely.
