Snapshots of rural France

Vallée de la Vézère, Perigord

Well a long car journey (3 hours each way), but a very worthwhile trip and a most excellent day. This is one of my favourite views on the way to my Dordogne meeting place in Montignac sur Vézère. This is taken at Les Farges, which is very high (as you can see) and has a splendid view, and is about 20 minutes from Montignac. Montignac is also where the famous caves (grottes) of Lascaux are. (more info here)

It was a mixture between patchy fog and bright sunshine on the journey, and I tried to stop in the beautiful riverside town of Brantôme for some photos (about the halfway point) but it was too busy to park up! Maybe next time. Leaving Montignac about 5:15pm I got caught in Perigueux rush hour traffic, which enabled me to see the cathedral in the dark all lit up. Another spot for an evening photo shoot logged...

3 days 'off' now before my big 'back to work' planning meeting which is on Tuesday at 10:30. All along the grapevine I am hearing positive things. A nice drink with a friend at the end of the day just about topped it off nicely. I will be having lunch with said friend next week when she comes to the Charente.

Have a great weekend!!
