Bananas, Bizet and Port

Well, I've had better days in life, but all's well that ends well. I've been poorly since Tuesday with a sinus bug. It's left me feeling dizzy, with a thumping head and the thermoregulatory capacity of a tongueless dog. I had fallen asleep very early and woke up at 10pm thinking it was morning. I didn't get back to sleep until nearly getting up time.

I rushed to catch the late train and almost wished I hadn't. If it wasn't for someone with those crap noise leaking Apple headphones, I would have fallen asleep again. Work was a struggle....maybe a bunch of bananas would have helped the day pass more seamlessly but it wasn't to be. I even didn't turn up for a meeting with the boss.....sorry Vinny!

I got home and decided to prepare for a guest lecture I'm doing a week on Monday. It's great because I only have a very rough brief and can be creative. It'll be my 3rd year running with this slot and they're a difficult audience to engage with. I sometimes think education turns people off from learning......and by the time students start university, their brains are fuzzed! I'm gonna try n be a brain fuzz buster!

Whilst cooking dinner, I put on my favourite opera....The Pearl Fishers by Bizet and poured a very large glass of very lovely Port! Ola....if you're reading this, it's what I got from the Valvona and Crolla voucher you got me! Yummy cherry richness....but so it should be as it costs as much as an 18 year old malt! I feel better now!
