Northern Lights

"And God said "Let there be light," and there was light" Genesis 1:3

I was so pleased in the early hours this morning to have spotted these Northern Lights while still in Iceland (we are back in the UK now!!). We had given up and were driving back to the hotel, when I looked out the window and saw the start of something glowing!! Previously when we have been out I have never been able to see anything unless it was a long exposure photo someone had taken. But last night, for the first time I saw them, with my own eyes. They were quite stunning and lit up the whole sky.

My camera is not good enough for capturing them, so I have "borrowed" a picture from my husband for this post. It struck me again, the awesome creation that God has made, a lot of things that were created serve a purpose and I can understand why they exist. But the Northern Lights, they seem to me to just be for fun, every now and then God likes to paint the skies with pretty colours for us to see and enjoy, and last night I was blessed to see them too....
