I love how Tad launches off of that bench. Motion in comics is really hard to do.
I can see that by now I'd started using Photoshop a lot to cut and paste body parts - what I was doing was wire framing (the circles cartoonists draw for the head, arms, hands, feet, and joints) and this is fantastic for how real bodies bend and move, but it takes a lot of time. To save that time I was just cutting and pasting, but then you get people who are completely stiff and frozen and it just doesn't look right. It's those little almost imperceptible movements from frame to frame that make a comic strip look right.
