End of an era?

Hong Kong is famous for its neon signs, but as they begin to age, and in the light of (no pun intended!!) concerns about the environment and safety during high winds and typhoons etc. many of the city's signs are under threat.

This particular sign has been announcing Sammy's Kitchen for over 40 years and is due to be taken down very soon.

The good news is that the sign will not be broken up, it is actually going to have a new life where many more people will be able to see it as part of the local heritage as it will be installed in one of the Island's museums.
