Day Eight.

This is how I felt all day today: half present. It possibly might have something to do with the four and a half hours of sleep I got last night or the six hours the night before... Possibly.

I spent most of the day with my coworkers. After nine hours at work (and lunch), we went to a local seafood restaurant for our end-of-semester work dinner. Amid the many courses that come with a Chinese dinner, we had a raffle with prizes ranging from a tablet to fancy shampoo to a vacuum (which my coworker actually went home right after, extremely excited to use). My prize was a towel. Can't complain about that; I don't know if you can ever have enough towels.

After the dinner, I headed straight to my writer's group. The word of the well was cell and I drew inspiration from my students and their constant violation of the rule at school that outlaws the use of cell phones. We had a large group tonight with many stories more interesting than mine.

Finally at eleven, I was nestled in my bed, hoping to somehow catch up on a few hours of sleep.
