It's all about the score
QPCC Committee meeting today, then we were getting set up for tomorrow's competition. It is salon style judging, which means that the panel of 3 judges are shown the pictures and have to give a mark within 5-10 seconds by pressing a button on their high tech (hmm) keypad. The three marks (between 2 and 5 from each judge) are totalled, and that is the mark awarded. This is our very own SPF President Tom Doherty showing me how it's done. Tomorrow should be fun - though maybe not for the judges, who will have to judge the (admittedly small number of) prints by standing up at the front, before sitting down in greater comfort further back for the much larger number of projected images. That is to get them close to the prints which will be under the proper lighting at the front.
