Pictures & Woodwork.

A light bulb moment......... literally!!

This is not the most exciting blip to look at BUT it is what I am going to do with them that is, at least I think so. I hope you like the idea yourselves.

We were out looking for something completely different mainly a new set of saucepans as the old ones have passed their sell by date. While Melanie was looking for the pots and pans etc; I came across these two vases and thought I know what I will do with those!!!

Well, a lot of you know that I do woodturning so I have decided to turn these into table lamps.
I will drill a hole through the glass in the base so the power cable will run up to the light fitting on the inside and up through a nice piece of wood which I will turn on my lathe to fit the mouth of the vase. The mouth of the vase is approximately 8cm in diameter, large enough to hold a light fitting and a reasonable lampshade
The vase itself is 40cm high. A good size for a Table lamp.

You may watch this space as I will blip them when I have finished them. May be a little while yet!
