Hitching A Ride
Ever experienced a moment when something really odd appears before your eyes and to miss out on blipping it would be a real opportunity lost!! This is one such moment....a piggy back ride with a difference!
As I drew up behind these two vehicles I thought there was something that made the whole scene look so wrong.....and I'm guessing its the proportions.......those wheels are way too small for that large truck to be riding on! Fortunately it wasn't going too far in my direction so once the lights turned green...it was lost to view! (Just want you to know I was stationary when I blipped it)
Started me thinking of where the 'piggy' came from and it apparently dates back to the 16th century! Then it was known as "pick pack," "pick back" and "pick-a-pack," which make no reference to pigs at all!
"Pick" used to mean the same as to throw and "Pack" was most probably a reference to something being carried on the back. By the 18th century people were saying "pickaback" and as the origin of the phrase started to get lost, "pickaback" evolved into "piggyback."
Now where would we be without that little nugget of information!!!
Think the sparkling lights make this picture for me though.....and the colour of the sky, which at dusk, did almost promise more rain but so far...its just cold!!!! A mere 18C!!
Its bed time....so Happy Blipping Everyone.
