Told you I was ill!

This morning, after another night with the hacking cough, I decided I was a 'medical emergency' and in need of a doctor. The receptionist did her best to deter me but eventually I was given an appointment and what did the doctor say? She told me I should have come earlier! Anyway, I've been seen, prescribed drugs and should soon be on the road to recovery.
As I left the surgery I wished the charm school reject receptionist a happy new year and gave her a cheerful smile! She didn't reply.
