Birminghan Worcester Canal

The bottom gates on the Tardebigge top lock No 58 are being replaced and the stretch of canal below the lock has been drained. Today's' blip shows just how much silt there is on the canals.
Tardebigge Locks or the Tardebigge Flight is the longest flight of locks in the UK, comprising 30 narrow locks on a two and a quarter mile stretch of the Worcester and Birmingham Canal at Tardebigge, Worcestershire. Ali and I came down this flight on my boat 2 years ago. Really hard work. The 'Queens Head' pub at the bottom of the flight was a welcome sight after several hours hard work.
