Backing into routine. Was asleep for most of the morning.
Did a back bending task where I would sight along the top and bottom of the scroll (because it was on its side) and compare that with a straight edge sticking up so I could see how similar the two sides were.
After a while I got fed up bending double and got a bit of wood and stuck the small bit I'd been testing my gouges on onto it, then clamped it in the vice. It was better. So I stuck a bigger length of wood onto that.
Then I discovered as was able to saw and chisel away at eye level.
I'm keeping those bits of wood, they're not going back into the scrap pile just yet.
