A different sort of road noise

The road behind us was busy with its usual morning rush of traffic today, but this all stopped soon after 9 as they shut the lane to through traffic. Why? Because they are digging out the edges to put in kerbstones, and it looked as though they were doing this on opposites sides of the road in different places. Its obviously much safer without traffic trying to speed past and wiggle in and out.

So we have lost one sort of noise, and gained the noise of the diggers and dumper trucks as they work to remove the spare tarmac and earth. I'm hoping that with gaping holes at the edges, it will remain closed overnight too, so it will definitely be less noisy then. In the meantime keep up the good work chaps.
