Questioning the word "Dummy"

Well, let's put it this way. I out-dumbed the Mac os x for dummies. Last night I worked for 5 hours on a summer project for my AP US class. This morning I woke up to find a little insignia on the screen saying "you must restart your computer". Today I spend at least 3 hours trying to find a way around this, but i couldn't, so I restarted my computer and lost all my work from last night.
