Poppies Sprouting in January...

There are so many photos to take outside but I am always deeply touched by the simple things in nature. I plant poppies by the tens of thousands all over my acre and they are sprouting like mad all over the place. The tiny bright green feathery leaves in the early stages, just sprouting between the dead dry brown winter leaves, gives a lift. Life goes on no matter what. As Camus wrote, "In the midst of winter I found there was, in me, an invincible summer." I think that is the message of these tiny poppies, and I feel it.
