Early Morning at the Landfill
This property is on a lovely stretch of the coast, a few miles north of town, bordered by farms. We used to call it the dump. Now the area is efficiently divided into various sections for recycling, greenwaste, lumber of various kinds, and just plain dirt. We had a truckload of garden waste from the weekend rose removal. The sun was just coming up, lots of clouds in the sky. It's the ocean you're seeing in the distance, and thousands of seagulls in the mid-ground. The sound of them is enormous as they rise up in waves again and again when a new load is brought in.
