Dr H.
Busy bee today so unfortunately not a very exciting blip. First night back at uni this evening and the start of my Clinical Psychology module, with our funny new lecturer Dr H. She used this joke to beautifully but slightly strangely demonstrate how it's our thoughts that determine our behaviours.
Three men left their flat building one morning to go to work and unfortunately stepped in dog poo as they walked outside. The first man became very angry that his shoes were dirty and he would have to walk to work smelling. He carried on his way but spent the rest of the day in a foul mood (excuse the pun) and had a terrible day at work. The second man became very distressed and took off his shoes, exclaiming that they were now ruined and that he no other shoes to wear therefore could not go to work that day. He returned to his flat and spent the rest of the day in bed. The third man stepped in the poo and said "it's lucky I was wearing shoes this morning".
So, I hope none of you stepped in dog poo today but if you did, always try to see the positive in every situation.
