Southern Lights

The moon seems to fall,
Thin clouds filter silver light,
In a ghostly trail


The clouds were racing across the moon tonight - I was trying to capture the effect, but of course it would never work because the clouds were moving faster than the moon so in a longish exposure the clouds were a blur ...

However I quite like the ethereal effect of this and the fact that it looks like the moon is falling like a comet, or maybe shining a beam into the heavens, depends on the way you look at it.

So a technically imperfect picture but poetically justified ... perhaps .....
