Macro tools?

I did get inspirated by Alexander's snow flake photos:

I have shot some 1.5:1 macros, but not that high magnification as Alexander. I hard read about reverse lens macro in macro book "up close". To get so big magnifications I probably need extension tubes and a 72mm coupler ring.

Do any one have suggestiong how to support those lenses (without scratching them) and where I can find so big reserve coupler ring?
