Round and round

These little roundels sit in one of the original cottage windows in our home. If it rains much more the hippo will be in his element! The dove, meanwhile, is ready to set off on its flight from The Ark when the waters go down.

We are fortunate to be on high ground but are between the Rivers Wey and Mole, both of which are flooding. Interestingly, the water table hasn't yet recovered from our several years of drought. We are near a marl pit where about every seven years when the water table is particularly high it comes above the bottom of the pit. There's no sign of it yet.
